Quick Kit

At Lyons Davidson we are committed to getting a rider’s damaged kit and equipment replaced after an accident. To this end we offer our ‘Quick Kit’ service. If you authorise us to use our ‘Quick Kit’ procedures we aim to replace your accident damaged kit as soon as possible with new for old, or at least by getting best value replacements. We will have the replacement kit delivered direct to you.

It is up to you whether or not you wish to deal with your claim using Quick Kit. The main benefit to you of Quick Kit is speed of settlement for your damaged motorcycling kit and equipment claim.

Your kit and equipment claim is part of your special damages claim (claim for financial losses and expenses), and subject to appropriate proof/documentary evidence being provided to us by you, we will tell the other side what we think your kit and equipment claim is actually worth. At the same time we will also tell them how much we can replace the items for using our industry contacts. Usually it will be for less than we would claim from them if you had to purchase the items yourself. We will offer to replace the kit direct if they pay us exactly the cost chargeable to us.

If they accept our offer it should result in you receiving your kit more quickly and closure for that part of your claim. You must authorise the insurer to pay us for the kit. We pay the supplier direct. Once we have received payment from the insurance company we will immediately authorise dispatch of your new replacement kit to you. It is up to you to ensure that the correct items – sizes and colours are ordered and the suppliers will contact you about this.

The advantage of Quick Kit is that it dispenses with the usual negotiations and delays that can often take place when valuing a kit and equipment claim. And if the insurers don’t accept our offer of a less expensive and quick resolution of your kit claim – we fight your case, as we would normally do without the ‘Quick Kit’ scheme.
